14: Vicky - Surviving Domestic Violence
With all that is going on in the world, it stopped for 6 weeks and the world was transfixed on a story. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were facing off in court in a defamation case. Amber Heard published an Op-Ed in the Washington Post accusing Johnny Depp of abusing her. Violently. Johnny Depp sued for defamation and won that case, but the contents of the case were deeply disturbing and gave the world a glimpse inside a home with an abuser.
In cases of domestic abuse, many people would ask, if Johnny Depp was abusing her, why didn’t she leave? Or vice a versa. If Amber was abusing him why didn’t he leave? The answer isn’t always that easy.
Today’s guest, Vicky is sharing her story on her survival of domestic abuse and subsequent divorce after years of marriage and then a complete life reimagination.
